PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced that the Fourth Avenue Garage will close beginning on Wednesday, February 8. Arrangements are being made to relocate all vehicles that use the county-owned garage, including sheriff vehicles and county pool vehicles.

Since its annual inspection last fall, engineers have been conducting ongoing tests and evaluations of the garage, which was built in 1930. Engineers now require the garage to be vacant in order to conduct in-depth structural analyses and to determine possible repair needs. The garage will remain closed until further notice.
